THE NEIGHBORHOOD COMMITTEE FOR FAIR DEVELOPMENT

PETITION IN OPPOSITION TO SPECIFIC PLAN 23

WE THE UNDERSIGNED MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD COMMITTEE FOR FAIR DEVELOPMENT RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT YOU CONSIDER OUR POSITION AGAINST MULTI-FAMILY ZONING ON THE THREE LOTS LISTED AS SPECIFIC TO PLAN 23 FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS...

The Lemon Packing House on Bonita and Cataract is historic and is the very last remaining link to the past history of our town's early beginnings as one of the world's largest lemon packing and shipping centers. It has been a San Dimas landmark for all of the residents and would be a sad loss to the history of San Dimas

We also oppose the zoning proposal change from a low impact industrial zone to a high impact high density "housing projects." The demolition and construction of such a proposal will negatively impact the existing nearby residents with excessive noise and potential health issues from dust and ancient ground laden toxins blowing throughout the neighborhood.

There will also be a strain on our already overtaxed sewers and water supply lines imposing further restriction on our water usage.

The MFD zone will open the door to massive multi-story projects that will destroy the small town entry into the North neighborhood that consists of mostly single-story family homes. Eventual government subsidizing will increase the odds of break-in's, drug dealing and gang shootings!

IF YOU AGREE WITH US REGARDING THESE ISSUES, AND WANT TO JOIN YOUR VOICE WITH OURS, TO TIRECT THE CITY IN A POSITIVE APPROACH TO HEALTHY AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT, THEN SIGN THE PETITION TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT. AS A GROUP WE WILL WORK TO HAVE OUR VOICES HEARD!
